It has been renowned for its foundational works and adventurous explorations, impressive ensembles and for passions to capture the hearts of audiences. The orchestra’s appearances both at home and abroad include participations in ‘Performing Arts Market Seoul’ and had a national tour for being selected as the “Outstanding Performing Orchestra”, ‘Asia Orchestra Week’ in 2005 and 2015 in Japan, tours in the States(Tour in the USA, 2004) and Europe(Europe Tour, 2012) ; appearing in Vienna(Golden Hall of Musikverein), Praha(Smetana Hall of Municipal House), Budapest(Italian Institute of Culture), Munich(Hercules Hall of Munich Palace). In December 2014, the orchestra celebrated its 30th Anniversary, having the pleasure of playing the Complete Beethoven's Symphony. Artistic Director & Principal Conductor _ James Judd Music Director of the Little Orchestra Society New York, the Israel Symphony Orchestra, and from 2017/18 season the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, British conductor James Judd is sought after for both his passionate musicianship and his charismatic presence on and off the podium. Known for his extraordinarily communicative style and bold, imaginative programming, repeat engagements from Prague to Tokyo, from Istanbul to Adelaide, attest to his rapport with audiences and musicians alike. Maestro Judd was appointed to lead Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra as the 8th Artistic Director and Principal Conductor from September 2016. During his eight years as Music Director of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Judd brought the ensemble to a new level of visibility and international renown with acclaimed recordings for the Naxos label, tours of Europe and Australia and the orchestra’s first appearance at the BBC Proms. His music directorships have included Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestre National de Lille in France and 14 years as Music Director of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra.
